My A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Sister :)

My sister has just been accepted to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) - the school of her dreams since she was young. She was among the less-than-10% of accepted students and I am so proud of her hard work, dedication and persistence in achieving this goal. She deserves this more than anyone I know. I used to tell he, "You can do it! and now I say, "You did it!" This would not have happened without the many prayers of others and the Lord. I'm super happy and excited for her!

She will be studying Aerospace Engineering :)

much, much love

News, News, News!!

Guess what?!?! I finally got the email saying I will be doing my Student Teaching in Washington D.C.! Before I get into a frenzy of writing and talking abut my excitement, I want to say a thank you first and foremost to Heavenly Father and secondly my dad, who believes in me and encourages me to do and reach great things. Their support has been amazing; thus, I feel blessed and happy. Now, I'm extremely excited about this and even though I know it will be hard, it will be worth it. I can't wait to see the city, visit places, teach children, and grow as an individual and teacher.

Cheers! :)

Guess What?!?!

I am in my Cohort for my Early Childhood Education major and we are going to be doing a practicum - "teaching" in the schools for 8 weeks which is very exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time. Usually girls get their placement the semester before but we didn't get that benefit. We just found out this week and we start in next week. So, guess what grade I got?!?! I get to teach Kindergarten AND 1st grade!! I was very surprised that I got two grades because all the other got one grade. Turns out, I will be doing half a day in Kindergarten and the other half in a class of 1st graders who are not up to 1st grade standards because they are mostly ESL students (most speaking Spanish). I am soooo excited!! I know that this few weeks will be hard but definitely doable. I can't wait to meet the students :)
